A useful head start

What does duplicating a gas certificate actually do?

The duplicate feature creates a separate, editable certificate from a previous record saved in your account.

It can reduce repeated data entry on return visits, but it does not replace the inspection. Dates, readings, appliance information, outcomes, notes and any other changed details must still be reviewed and updated for the current job.

The important bit: the previous certificate remains in the customer’s history. Changes made to the duplicate do not overwrite it.

How it works

From previous record to new certificate

Three straightforward stages, with the engineer remaining in control of the information being recorded.

01

Find the previous certificate

Open a completed certificate from the customer or property history. The original record must already be fully synced.

02

Create the duplicate

Select the duplicate option to create a separate certificate that can be edited for the new visit.

03

Inspect, update and send

Complete the current inspection, update everything that has changed, check the record and send the finished certificate.

Worth remembering

A quicker starting point, not a shortcut through the checks.

A duplicated certificate must accurately reflect the current visit. Engineers remain responsible for reviewing and completing the new record correctly before it is issued.

Questions answered

Duplicate gas certificate FAQs

The practical details to know before using a previous record as your starting point.

What does duplicating a gas certificate mean?

It creates a separate editable certificate using a previous record as the starting point. The original certificate remains unchanged.

Can I duplicate any certificate?

Certificate types created within your account can be duplicated, provided the original record has been fully synced.

Can I edit the duplicated certificate?

Yes. The duplicate is a new editable record. Every detail should be reviewed and updated to reflect the current job before it is saved or sent.

Will duplication overwrite the original certificate?

No. The original certificate stays in the customer or property history exactly as it was.

Can I duplicate a certificate while offline?

The source certificate must already be fully synced online. Offline Mode is intended for supported new certificates on compatible mobile devices and does not provide offline access to every previous record or feature.

Will my business branding be included?

Your saved business information and branding can be carried into the new record. Check the finished certificate before issuing it.

Do I still need to check every field?

Yes. Duplication reduces repeated entry, but the new certificate must accurately record the current inspection, readings and findings.
